Well, I have to say it was awesome that there was even discussion (on Monday) of closing the school early to let students go home to watch the England vs. Slovenia match. In the end, we were given permission to watch it during lessons today (last lesson of the day, as the game began at 3). Problem, however, was that my flash player in the room was NOT working so I had to spread my kids among the few classes in maths that did have a working flash player.
In the end, we (some teachers and about a quarter of my class as well as others) stayed to watch the entire match on our interactive boards (kind of like a large screen TV). It was great to watch it with them and enjoy in the spirit of the game with them...especially as they scored their only point and guaranteed their spot to the next round (after two games that were tied: 1-1 and 0-0 respectively). Yay England!!!
